But I decided to knit a man’s hat with knitting needles in order to replace it with my husband’s old one, which had lost its presentable appearance. In other words, I decided to give my beloved husband a small but very practical gift.

I wanted to knit a man's hat with a pattern "Bananas"(it resembled these particular fruits and berries, which is why it got its name).

The hat used almost a skein of LANAGOLD PLUS wool blend thread, left over from knitting quite recently. I needed knitting needles No. 4 and No. 6.

To knit a sample of this pattern with knitting needles, you need to cast on the number of loops that are a multiple of 10, add 2 loops for symmetry of the pattern and 2 edge loops (for example, 24 loops). And then knit according to the pattern below.

By the way, when making a men's hat, I knitted only repeat loops located between the arrows and edge loops.

So, to knit a men's hat of size 58, take knitting needles No. 4 and cast on 92 loops on one knitting needle, using.

• in the 11th row of the diagram -remove the edge, purl 1, *knit 2, knit 2 together, purl 3*, knit 2, knit 2 together, purl 2, edge (56 stitches on the needles);
• in the 13th row of the diagram - remove the edge, purl 1, * place 3 loops on the auxiliary needle before work, knit the next 3 loops, then knit 3 loops from the auxiliary needle *, at the end of the row, place 3 loops on the auxiliary needle before work, knit the next 2 loops, then we knit 3 loops from the auxiliary needle, the edge one;
• in the 1st row of the diagram - remove the edge stitch, knit all the loops in 2 stitches together, knit stitch, edge stitch (there are 29 loops on the knitting needles).

Leaving a piece of thread for sewing the hat, thread it through a needle, pull the thread through all 29 loops, and sew the hat.

And this is how it looks on the head of my beloved husband! For some reason the camera started to malfunction, so the colors of the hat turned out different. In the photo below the color is more believable, but still not “coffee with milk”.

I wanted to knit a snoodik to the hat, but my husband flatly refused - he is not a fan of scarves, and the warm collar of the jacket prevents his neck from getting cold. Well, let the hat warm its owner.
