We will analyze a variety of techniques, ranging from origami to nesting figures into each other.

Volume is given to the figures by folding the workpiece along the lines, or by connecting the parts together.

I also recommend choosing thicker paper for crafts. It looks better and keeps its shape. Let's get started with a detailed analysis of the ideas.

The five-pointed star is one of the symbols of Victory Day. And it is still often used in creativity on the eve of this holiday. Therefore, I offer several options for creating it.

Idea 1. We will make a double-sided star. It can have different edge colors or the same ones. It's up to you. Below, the edges are shown in shades of yellow and blue so you don't get confused when putting it together.

You need two pieces cut from this template.

Glue the seam allowances and the craft is ready.

Idea 2. Now I will show you a detailed assembly diagram for such a craft. It can be made from A4 sheets.

You cut out a lot of blanks according to the diagram (it will be slightly lower). You need five pieces in this case. Fold the parts along the required lines and glue them together.

And here is the diagram itself.

Idea 3. Suggests that you need to recreate the shape of the star yourself.

To do this, use a protractor and paper. Take a sheet of paper and draw a circle with a compass. Find its diameter and mark it with a line.

Then take a protractor and, starting from the marked line, mark 72 degrees. And so repeat the procedure 4 more times.

Connect all the points with straight lines. you have a sketch of a five-pointed star.

Then you cut it in and bend it along the lines marked with a dotted line and along the lines of the center of the rays.

You can even create a postcard based on such a five-pointed symbol.

To do this, we take the template that is indicated at the end of the article in the section of the same name. We need to cut out 2 gray base pieces. Then a lining, which will be 2 mm smaller at the edges and serve as a liner for the wishes.

We glue the bases together using one beam.

Now you need to take the decor. To do this, we need to cut out parts from plastic and thick cardboard. They are the same size.

From the wrong side we glue the plastic and cardboard parts together. We often distribute bulky double-sided tape around the perimeter. It is sold in craft stores, as well as in household departments.

Pour stars and sequins inside.

We tear off the protective layer of tape and paste the front side of our postcard on top. It turns out like this.

The St. George ribbon will complete the gift well.

On May 9th you can create such a cute present. On it, the base is also a star, but in the center there is a tank made of paper using the quilling technique.

Repeat and create.

Different options for volumetric stars

Various paper star ideas are shown here. Which will come in handy for room decor. For example, for New Year or Birthday.

For example, we made a similar star above. However, when you add decor, you get a bright and colorful holiday craft.

To create it you need to cut out five such parts.

Fold them along the fold line and apply glue or tape to the seam allowance. We connect the two ends into a workpiece.

Let's do the same with the remaining 4 parts. Which we then glue together with thin ends from the center.

If you don’t understand something, I’m attaching a detailed master class from the same star.

Another interesting festive and cute craft.

We will use one part according to the template.

There are 8 rays on the workpiece.

Bend the part along the lines.

We glue the side allowances together for each part. They are located at the top of the rays.

It turns out like this.

We apply the blank to a thick sheet of paper and trace the contours. Which need to be cut out and glued as a base.

The next option is suitable for a children's party. You can make so many small decorations from different flowers.

Let's use this diagram. We cut out the blanks and, using a ruler, bend all the indicated lines inward.

Now you need to assemble the star. To prevent you from getting confused during the master class, one of the sides is highlighted with a hole. The part, already folded according to the marks, needs to be glued on one side. This will connect both ends.

These interesting stars are created from two parts. They are made quite simply. For convenience, take creative paper with a beautiful pattern. It is denser than usual. Although a standard album sheet will also work.

Take a square and fold it twice in the middle. We will need two blanks.

Then we fold the sheet diagonally, obtaining the shape of a triangle.

We find the middle of the perpendicular lines and make cuts with a knife to this point.

We wrap and glue the sides, forming rays.

Coat one side with PVA glue and place the dry side on it. This way the part will be voluminous.

This is what happened.

We repeat the same steps for the second part.

Then we apply glue from the wrong side and connect both pieces to each other, shifting the rays.

The beams should not connect.

Using this template you need to cut out 2 sides. We transfer the template onto paper, you can even take two different colors.

You will get it as shown in the photo.

Look for the middle and bend the workpiece towards it.

You get this interesting thing.

Repeat the same with the second part.

Then connect them by inserting them into the cut grooves.

An option that kids can easily repeat.

You need two pieces of thick double-sided cardboard.

They need to make slits all the way to the middle. One part is along the line from the connection of the lower beams, and the other is in the middle of the upper beam.

We insert the blanks into each other.

You can use your imagination and make a three-dimensional box. For the base you need to take a pentagon. Four sides of which will be extended with trapezoids. These are allowances for gluing.

According to the lines indicated in the master class, you need to fold the part and glue both ends.

Little stars from stripes

Separately, I decided to highlight the popular technique of creating a star from a paper strip.

Each step is shown in detail in the photo. Strip dimensions: 1 cm*10. You may have some extra length left. You can simply cut it off.

Press on the sides of the workpiece and it will gain volume.

How to fold a three-dimensional star step by step using the origami technique

Origami is a very popular technique. It involves creating crafts without glue and practically without the use of scissors.

Below I will show you how to make a six-pointed star.

Take a compass and draw a circle of any diameter you need. Then save the radius and mark it along the entire line of the circle, fixing the segments with dots.

Connect these points through one line using a ruler. Cut out the workpiece and bend it along the indicated lines.

For the next star, you need to take a pentagon and find all its diagonals and bisectors. Next, fold it as shown in the photo.

Since it is quite difficult to roll such a star, I am attaching a detailed video.

I liked the craft with congratulations to men on February 23rd. The frame is also made using this technique.

Ten blanks are needed. We put them according to the diagram.

Then we connect it into a circle, and glue a congratulation on the inside.

You can use absolutely any colors.

Printable cutting patterns and templates

I also present the most popular star templates in creativity. They can be printed or transferred to a sheet.

To make a three-dimensional five-pointed star, you only need a square sheet of paper or cardboard and two minutes of time.

So, to make a three-dimensional star, take a square sheet and fold it in half. Remember: all other steps must be performed so that the sheet folded in half lies with the fold down.

Fold the leaf in half again - we get a fold strip.

Now we need two more stripes - for this we need to fold our workpiece in this way:

And then like this:

Then we bend it like this:

And bend the right side evenly to the resulting line:

Next, we fold our workpiece in half, bending it back:

Next action: bend the corner to get another fold line - you will need to cut along it, resulting in a triangle:

Let's hold this side towards us:

We bend:

Straightening:

And we cut it off and get:

In principle, the star is ready - all that remains is to unfold it and slightly correct all the lines so that it turns out as expected:

That's all, you can paint with gouache or paints if you made it from white paper.
Of course, this is far from the only way to make a three-dimensional star, and in the future we will definitely tell you about other options so that you have plenty to choose from.

  1. Classic model
  2. Eight-pointed decoration
  3. Star-lamp
  4. With a surprise inside

Decorating a room or any other place for a festive event with garlands, pendants, panels made by yourself is very popular. Almost any decorative elements can be made using the simplest materials, such as cardboard or paper sheets. Even if you want to turn everything around into a starry sky, this is not a problem, because there are many ways to create different shapes of stars from paper.

Classic model

Do-it-yourself five-pointed paper stars are quite simple and even without the help of glue. You just need to master some basic origami techniques:

  1. To work you will need a square piece of paper. Fold it in half and place the folded side down (toward you).
  2. Fold the upper right corner (two layers of paper) inward, towards the middle of the sheet, only slightly smoothing the fold. Unfold the corner. Do the same with the lower right corner. You have an intersection left on your piece of paper.
  3. Now place the lower left corner to the center of the resulting intersection. Smooth out the fold.
  4. Turn the same corner of the sheet back towards the fold. And iron the resulting fold again.
  5. Fold the lower right corner to the resulting triangle on the left side. Iron the fold.
  6. Fold the right side back along the triangle alignment line.

A figure should emerge that looks like a bag: at the bottom there is a narrowing, at the top there is paper of different heights. The upper part must be cut off on the bias. Mentally draw an inclined line from the top of the triangle from the side to the opposite side so that it intersects it below the middle. Cut off the excess.

When you unfold the piece of paper, all you have to do is straighten or press the lines of the rays of the star with your hands again. Such crafts are convex only on one side, but this is their advantage when you want to create them, for example, as a wall panel or stick them on any plane.

Eight-pointed decoration

You can make stars out of paper with your own hands, voluminous on both sides. Such figures can be hung from the ceiling or on a Christmas tree as toys.

  1. Place a square piece of construction paper in front of you, face up. Bend it in half: first from the bottom up, then turn the bent half back, then from the side and turn the half back in the same way.
  2. Place the sheet of paper with the front side facing inward. Fold the bottom left corner to the top right corner, iron the fold, straighten the sheet. Do the same with the lower right and upper left corners. And here in front of you is a four-pointed star.
  3. On the reverse side of the sheet, on the lines bent inward (not convex!), mark the middle of each ray, starting from the center of their intersection. In total you must put down four marking points.
  4. From the edges of the rays along the fold, make cuts to the points. Bend the resulting cut edges inward, towards the rib. Coat either half with glue and glue it to the other folded edge. One “star” half is ready.
  5. Also make another blank. Then lubricate the center of the crafts with glue and align them so that the directions of the rays do not coincide. You can glue a rope to the middle, from which the decor will be hung.

If you forgot to attach a thread, no problem! You can attach it to the beam by making a hole in it and threading a ribbon.

Star-lamp

Heavenly bodies emit light. How to make a 3D paper star as bright? Cut out patterns and place a light source inside!

  1. Draw a line in the center of the sheet; its length depends on how long you want the star’s ray to be. On both sides of it (about 30 degrees), place a piece slightly longer (the edge of the star), and then one more on each side (at 60 degrees), but the same length as the first line. Combine the segments into a shape. It will look a little like a heart.
  2. At the top (from the 30 degree line - the edges - to the center and again to the edge) draw a strip of about 5 mm. Draw the same strip to the right of the side of the figure. These strips are needed so that the parts can then be glued together.
  3. Mark the middle between the ribs of the beam and the fold lines. Here you will need to make holes, “lining up” them in rows. If you do them on each section between the ribs and bends, then you will have four rows.
  4. Cut out the workpiece and make holes. Perform scoring (fold the lines correctly).
  5. Lubricate the strip on the right with glue and glue the left side of the workpiece to it.

    The first ray came out.

  6. The remaining four rays are made in the same way; thread a garland into the last one before gluing.
  7. Using the glued strips that remain at the top of the rays, assemble the star decoration, placing the garland inside.

The pattern does not have to be made in the form of holes. You can cut any one, the main thing is that the holes are not too large, otherwise the garland will be noticeable.

How to make a 3D star out of paper. 3 options

With a surprise inside

Another way to make paper stars with your own hands, without bothering yourself with complex drawings, is to place several flat blanks on top of each other:

  1. Cut out several identical stars from cardboard (the number depends on the thickness of the cardboard and the desired height of the craft). If you want to hide a souvenir inside, then cut a circle in the center of each leaf figure.
  2. Stick the blanks one on top of the other. Leave a few more for the lid.
  3. To ensure the lid closes tightly, stick several cardboard circles on it of the same diameter as the recess at the bottom.

Now you can decorate the box star at your discretion: self-adhesive film, glitter, fabric, paint.

By the way, about the decor! The stars can be covered with pieces of CDs of a suitable size. Then your crafts will not be inferior in beauty to real heavenly bodies!

To make a five-pointed star you will need a rectangular landscape sheet. Or a sheet of colored paper of the same proportions.

Step-by-step instruction.
1.

cut paper stars

Bend the landscape sheet in half as shown in the figure.

3. Now we bend the lower left corner upward as in the picture.

5. Cut off the excess from the resulting folded figure. The sharper the cut angle, the sharper the angles will be on the star.

Many have encountered the problem - How to draw a regular pentagon?
But all known methods require at least compasses or rulers. The same method allows you to draw a polygon - a star, with only scissors at hand.

Having cut out such a model, you can use it as a template for drawing or for making children's appliques and paper crafts. Cute stars are made from small rectangles. To do this, bend the album sheet in half, then in half again, unfold - and you will get four rectangular identical blanks for your stars.

Well, and finally, I want to offer you an interesting new video that can be very useful for you or your child!

Stars have always been considered something magical, mysterious and beautiful. They light the way and point the direction. Someone is lucky to be born under a lucky star. Some people rush to make a wish when they see a shooting star, others like to just look at them at night in clear weather. All people on Earth are familiar with this symbol. Maybe that’s why many people want to make their own little star of happiness, because it’s so beautiful. Now we will try to make a happy star from plain paper.

To work, we need a strip of paper and a little time. In our case, the size will be 1x23 cm. Of course, you can take a strip of any size, but the ratio of length to width should remain the same 1:23 each time. To find out what size star you can get from any strip of paper, you need to multiply its width by 1.67. For example, from a sheet of A4 paper, taking into account the ratio 1x23, it is convenient to cut strips measuring 1.2x27.6 cm. From such strips you can make a star measuring 2 cm.

And so, we begin to fold the star. Wrap the end of the paper strip around your index finger and tie a knot. You need to tighten it and press it so that you get a small figure of an equilateral pentagon.

You need to try to ensure that after tying the knot there is a very small end of the strip left. If this cannot be done, it is better to cut it off or bend it back.

Next, we begin to wrap our pentagonal star in a circle with the long end of the strip, bending it each time along the line of the edge of the figure. With each fold, the strip itself will lie on the next edge on which it needs to be folded.

After 10 similar folds, a short piece of strip should remain. It can be hidden in a nearby “pocket”. The result should be a pentagonal flat figure.

Now you need to try to make the figure three-dimensional. To do this, each edge needs to be slightly pressed inward with your fingers, while simultaneously pulling out the corners. Since the star is very small, you need to be especially careful so as not to accidentally damage it.

If you did everything correctly, then your lucky star should look like this.

Don't be upset if something went wrong and the star didn't work out the first time. Try to start again and for sure this time you will succeed! And when you learn how to do them, it will seem to you that nothing could be simpler.

The star is one of the most important symbols of the New Year and Christmas. No Christmas tree can do without this beautiful decoration. In addition, you can decorate your home, office and any other room with numerous stars. And if you start making stars with your child, it will be doubly useful. Firstly, the child will develop fine motor skills and his imagination. Secondly, you can spend quality time with your baby. In this article you can find out different ways to create a star out of paper with your own hands.

How to make a 3D star out of paper

Paper- a very popular material for creating various crafts and for making a three-dimensional star, this material is indispensable. Moreover, it is not necessary to use paper in its pure form. This could be cardboard, an old magazine or book, colored paper or newspapers. Anyone with carving skills can make such a craft.

Method 1

In order to make a five-pointed star in the simplest way, you need to take thick paper or colored cardboard and use a stencil to cut out two identical five-pointed stars. On each of them make cuts: on one - from top to bottom to the middle, and on the second - from bottom to top to the middle. It remains to connect two stars by inserting one into the other.

Method 2

To create the next volumetric star with your own hands, you need to take several sheets of white or colored paper. Two squares are cut out of them. These squares must be folded in half twice, then straightened and bent diagonally. Then the sheets of paper need to be unfolded again and small cuts made on each side of both sheets of paper. It is important to make the cuts the same length, otherwise the star will turn out crooked. Now they form rays by bending the cut sides to the corners of the square. This should result in 4 rays from each square.

To fix and give volume to the rays, their sides are coated with glue and glued together with an overlap. Finally, both parts are glued together so that each ray is separate.

Method 3

This method of creating a voluminous New Year's star is also very simple. At first print out the template and cut out two parts of a five-pointed star from it. According to the drawn lines, it is necessary to bend each part so that the outer corners are curved up and the inner corners are concave down. Places for gluing parts are folded to the wrong side. Next, use glue to connect the two parts and the star is ready.

Method 4

One of the ways to make a five-pointed star is origami. To work you will need five square sheets of colored paper. Each sheet is processed separately.

So, taking a sheet of paper, fold it along one of the diagonals. Then the sheet is straightened and all corners are folded towards this diagonal. Now take the upper corner of the resulting figure and bend it to the right and then to the left side. After such manipulations, you should get two intersecting lines. The workpiece must be turned over and the lower corner bent up and to the left, after which it must be straightened. All that remains is to bend the upper corner in a similar way and smooth out the part. Using the same scheme, four more blanks are made with your own hands and the finished parts are connected to each other.

Method 5

In order to make such a voluminous star you will need:

  • A large amount of paper (about 50 sheets);
  • Scissors;
  • Stationery glue;
  • Threads to match the color of the paper;
  • Stapler.

This method is quite labor-intensive and requires some patience. Each piece of paper must be cut lengthwise into two equal parts. Then all the resulting the leaves need to be rolled into tubes, one tip is sharp and the other is wide. All tubes should be twisted tightly and the edge fixed with glue. When all the parts are ready, you can start assembling. First, you need to staple three beams, then three more, and so on until all the parts are gone. In the second stage, the resulting fans are strung on a thread and pulled together. Thus, the rays take the shape of a sphere. This DIY New Year's star will look great near the ceiling.

Method 6

One of the options for the previous method is creating a five-pointed star from old and unnecessary books. To get started, you will need a star template cut out of thick paper or cardboard. Depending on the size of the template, the sheets of the book can be cut into equal parts or left unchanged. Just as in the previous version, the leaves are rolled into tubes with your own hands, but not too tightly. The finished tubes are glued to a piece of paper starting from the outer corners and moving towards the middle. To make the decoration more New Year's, you can decorate it with multi-colored sparkles.

Method 7

The most unusual and interesting option for making a three-dimensional star with your own hands. With this master class you can create small stars that can be conveniently used to decorate cards, gifts or interiors.

First of all, you need to cut strips of colored paper measuring 9 mm by 220 mm. It is important that the stripes are even. Next you need to proceed according to the following scheme:

  1. Take a strip of paper and fold it into a loop. One tip should be long, the other short.
  2. The short tip is folded inward and carefully tightened, making a knot. The knot must be pressed down with your fingers to align it. The remaining tip is folded towards the middle and hidden inside. The result should be a pentagonal shape.
  3. Now you need to wrap the resulting pentagon with the remaining long tip. Wrap each side in turn until the strip of paper runs out. When a short tip remains, it needs to be tucked inside the previous layer of paper.
  4. At the final stage, take the star with two fingers and press one finger of the second hand onto the middle of one of the faces. This manipulation is done with all faces.

There are a lot of ways to make a three-dimensional star and you can choose the one that suits you. And a handmade craft will always please the eye.

The voluminous star will become a decoration for various holidays, or a separate element of the interior. To do this, prepare the following list of materials:

  • Red paper;
  • Scissors;
  • Pencils;
  • Ruler;

Let's start the creative process:

  1. Cut out five red squares.
  2. Fold the squares diagonally.
  3. Unfold the squares and fold the right sides of the workpiece towards the middle, and then the left ones.
  4. Bend the upper parts of the workpiece: both the right and left parts.
  5. After all sides are driven, the workpiece will take the shape of a diamond. Then fold the diamond in half.
  6. Unfold the workpiece. Start smoothing the fold lines and straightening the edges.
  7. Gently straighten the inner layer of the star: repeat the previous steps seven times.
  8. Let's start assembling the star.
  9. Glue the side edges of the star and glue them together.
  10. Connect the modules so that they resemble a star in shape.

DIY paper star

The following algorithm will help you create many small stars (up to 1.5 cm in length). A large number of such stars look bright and magical. So, to create such a craft, prepare:

  • Colored glossy paper;
  • Scissors.

Let's start creating the craft:

  1. Cut several strips of paper 29x1.1 in length. The width of the strip should be based on the width of future stars.
  2. Make a small loop from the strip and bend it. The end result will be a pentagon.
  3. Press down, turn the rectangle over and work with the long part of the workpiece.
  4. Wrap the strip around the pentagon about ten times (each edge should be wrapped at least twice).
  5. Tuck the edge down. Press on the middle part of the figure, forming the edges of the star.

A lot of multi-colored stars placed in a beautiful vase will look most advantageous in the interior.

Origami paper star

Such stars look impressive if they are created from newspapers or decorative paper. Let's start creating origami:

  1. Fold the square piece of paper in half, then bend the top into a triangle.
  2. Do the first step with the other top of the workpiece.
  3. Place the corner of the rectangle on the opposite side into the bend suppression element from the previous paragraphs.
  4. Bend the rays of the star according to the drawn lines. Cut off the excess part.
  5. If you folded the sheet correctly, it will acquire folds in the shape of a pentagon.
  6. Follow the lines drawn on the sheet and bend them so that you eventually form a star.

Modular origami star

The following craft requires the impressive experience of a needlework master, since it includes many stages of creation. The final craft will impress you with its appearance.

To begin, prepare ten square-shaped paper sheets. Let's get started creating a stunning modular star:

  1. Bend one square along two diagonals, and then in transverse directions.
  2. Fold one sheet to form a double square.
  3. From another leaf, fold the workpiece so that it forms a double triangle.
  4. Insert the triangle into the inside of the square.
  5. Fold the ends of the square into the inside. Do this on two opposite sides.
  6. Unfold the workpiece and bend the protruding corners. This will help create one of the modules.
  7. Create four modules for one star. Connect the modules. They should be attached to each other with side corners. In this case, one corner of one element should rest against the folds of another corner.
  8. Insert the corners from the outside under the folds of the other module.
  9. Connect the modules until they form a single ring.
  10. Spread out all the components of the star and place it in a visible place in the room.

Do-it-yourself volumetric star

Volumetric stars are one of the most common decorations for the New Year. They are simple to create and look attractive: this is what makes the blank so popular. Let's begin the process of creating a volumetric star:

  1. On paper, draw the outline of the rays of the future star, print it and transfer it to another piece of paper.
  2. Fold the paper along the lines and glue along the edges.
  3. Make five templates.
  4. Glue the templates together so that they form a star.

By the way, the size of the star depends on the size of the prepared template. Make several multi-colored stars and hang them on a string: this way the star will become the center of attention of the room decorated for the New Year. Of course, the red three-dimensional star will be an excellent craft for school in honor of May 9th.

Crafts help give room to imagination and create truly magnificent objects that decorate the interior of the room. Don’t be afraid to experiment with techniques, materials and the use of certain products.
