Not so often you can find in origami a model that will take one or another final form, depending on whether

in what order certain operations will be performed. However, such models exist, and one of them is now in front of you. This is a paper hat from a newspaper, which can have several varieties.

This hat can be first a cocked hat, then a skullcap, a jester's cap, an academic cap and, finally, a bishop's miter.

To make all these varieties of paper hats, take a large sheet of newspaper folded in half. Do not forget that the "range" of paper hats is not exhausted by the indicated models and nothing prevents you from inventing your own kind of headdress folded from yesterday's newspaper.

All it takes is a little creativity and imagination.

1. To begin, fold the newspaper in half, bringing the short edges together. Then fold in half again (four times) and unfold, thus forming a central vertical crease.
Making sure the folded edge of the newspaper is on top, fold both top corners of the newspaper down along the vertical center line.

2. Fold forward and upward the bottom edge of the newspaper (only one layer of paper) and place it along the bottom edge of the triangular flaps folded in step 1.

3. Fold the bottom strip of paper up again.

4. Turn over the model.

5. Bend both outer edges inward towards the vertical center line.

6. Fold the bottom edge of the model along the bottom edge of the rim created in step 3.

7. Unfold the fold made in step 6. Fold the outer bottom corners inward so that their edges are aligned along the horizontal fold made in step 6.

8. Bend the bottom of the model up by folding it over the straight edge of the rim made in step 3.

9. Focusing on the horizontal crease made in step 6, fold the end of the strip into a raised crease inside the pocket behind the straight band made in step 6. Smooth out the model.

10.Operation 9 is completed.

11.Fold the top corner to the bottom edge of the model and thread it under the rim made in step 9.

12. Open the bottom edges of the hat by slightly pressing on the top fold to do this. Straighten the bottom edges of the hat and round them a little.

13. Your cocked hat is ready.

14. Turn the model over. Pull the front and back sides of the hat in opposite directions.

15. Fold the hat into a diamond shape.

16. Having horizontally in front of you the edges of the upper and lower rims of the hat, bend up, towards the center, the lower corner, and insert it under the lower rim.

17. Repeat step 16 with the top corner of the hat.

18. Open the center slot with your fingers by pulling the straight rims of the tire in opposite directions.

19. Using the thumbs and forefingers of both hands, pinch the arrow crease around the existing crease lines, giving the hat a rectangular shape.

20. Turn the model over. The skullcap is ready.

21. Pull out the two triangular flaps from under the rims (you will fold them during operation 16 - 17) and leave them hanging down freely. Now you have a jester's cap.

22. Pull out the triangular flap folded in operation 11 and straighten all three corners so that they are in the same plane with the central part of the hat. You have an academic hat worn by professors and bachelors.

23. Take hold of the sharp corner released in step 22 with your hand and lift it up, allowing the paper to open a little more.

24. Bishop's miter in finished form.

In childhood, many folded, it is in their likeness that a simple hat is folded for repairs. But the art of origami paper folding does not tolerate monotony or a flat approach. There are many methods for folding paper hats, and you should also not forget about imagery of thinking: you can fold a military cap for children, fold a pirate cocked hat for a boy, make an original hat with a brim or a paper cap with a visor for walking - there are many variations both for the game and for everyday life. Choose any scheme for folding hats below and get down to business as soon as possible!

Necessary materials

Origami hats are made from any paper at hand. They can be folded from a newspaper or use an unnecessary scrap of wallpaper - the origami hat in the material is so unassuming. Take yesterday's Izvestia or plain office paper - it doesn't matter. Much more significant is the decor, thanks to which a paper hat will acquire a thematic affiliation (pirate, gentleman, cowboy). To decorate the headdress, use feathers, any applications, drawings and inscriptions, buttons and any other improvised details. So a simple paper cap will easily become pioneer, army, and even navy.

Let's first decide on the purpose of our future paper hat, and then immediately proceed to its manufacture. For children in the game, for example, a samurai helmet is perfect. It assembles surprisingly easily. Our step-by-step instruction will help to make the child happy with a new game attribute in 2 minutes. Shall we start?

  • Prepare a sheet of paper in the shape of a regular square (see Fig. 1). Fold the sheet diagonally, and turn the resulting triangle into a square, bending the sharp corners to the top;
  • Bend the lower corners of the “front” side to the opposite corner, and then bend the upper corners outward again, forming “ears” protruding beyond the borders of the workpiece;
  • The Japanese paper hat is almost ready. Bend the lower corner of the upper plane up, slightly overlapping it on the bends of the workpiece, tuck the bottom again, fixing the shape;
  • Turn the hat over to fold up the “extra” corner on the back side, unfold the product - you have learned how to make a paper hat with your own hands for your fidget shogun.

By the way, you can also do for a complete set.

Homemade cap

Origami forage cap is a universal thing. Its role binding depends solely on how you will decorate it (painted, painted). Let's figure out how to make a cap out of paper. Look at the figure below - a detailed analysis of the circuit will tell you about the process in detail. On fig. 2 specifically shows how to make a cap from a newspaper, since its standard turn sets a sufficient headgear size for an average head. So:

  • An origami cap is folded from a rectangular sheet. Fold it in half, and then bend inward the upper “closed” corners of the bundle, bringing them together corner to corner, edge to edge (see Fig.);
  • Turn the upper "side" up twice, then turn the workpiece over. On both sides, bend the planes towards you, setting the desired size (we make a cap for ourselves, a teenager, a small child);
  • Turn the lower edge of the workpiece towards you without overlapping on the protruding folds, unfold the edge and fold its corners along the intended line of the new fold;
  • Bend the bottom plane up twice, closing all previously made folds. In fact, the paper cap is ready;
  • Turning the workpiece over, bend the top of the convolution downward, equaling it to the base of the workpiece. Then fill this limb over the side of the bundle, straighten the product - you have a pioneer cap in your hands. We managed to make a cap out of paper with our own hands in just a couple of minutes.

brim hat

If you managed to make a cap in no time, see how to make a hat out of paper with your own hands (Fig. 3). The task is quite simple:

  • Make a regular square out of the newspaper, fold it diagonally, then in half and in half again - we make a basting along the bends;
  • The future origami hat returns to the stage of a square folded in half. "Closed" corners are tucked inward without connecting the folds along the edges (see Fig.);
  • Fresh limbs need to be opened from the inside and squeezed along the plane of the workpiece. Turn the product face down and fold the edges towards you along the previously marked fold lines. Bend the "sides" towards you on each side.

Spectacular homemade hat folded into at its best! It remains to straighten it, push the dome a little and, of course, show the children how to make a paper hat for the upcoming walk in the park.

Paper cap

Rice. 4 shows how to make a hat with a visor out of paper, or, as the people say, an ordinary baseball cap. We will be making a paper cap with a visor using a standard spread of newspaper.

  • We bend the “closed” corners inward, bringing the corners and edges together. We turn the lower side outward twice (see also how to make a cap like a cap out of paper - a similar scheme);
  • On the reverse side, we bend the fixing corners, then bend the planes towards us on both sides, focusing on what size the cap is required (universally - orientation to the center);
  • We continue to figure out how to make a hat with a visor out of paper. Bend the bottom plane towards you along the edges. From it we bend the understudy corners inward, they will need to be wrapped inside the workpiece (see fig.);
  • Turning the bundle upside down "face", bend a larger angle to the lower edge and tuck it over the "side". Straighten the hat, tucking the side corners over the sides. Now it's not a secret for you how to make a cap from the spread of yesterday's newspaper.
